ABSTRACT: Historical maps are snapshots of the nation’s physical and cultural features at a specific time. Maps of a particular area can show how the area looked before development and provide a detailed view of changes over time. In this hands-on workshop, you will use the USGS Historical Topographic Map Explorer App to locate historic USGS topographic maps of one location and then add those maps to ArcGIS Online to create a historic portrait of that location.
